About MuckSmart

MuckSmart is a partnership project between Ruralscapes and Environment Agency. It's aim is simple: To increase dairy farmers' awareness of the benefits of nutrient management planning. 

Mucksmart works with established groups such as Discussion Groups, Grazing Groups, Buying Groups, Producer Groups etc. It provides free advice and guidance on practical on-farm manure management and NVZ compliance. The emphasis is about using farmer's own data so we provide slurry and soil analysis to enable farmers to make their own nutrient management plans.

Farmers that have participated on the Mucksmart workshop have reported fertiliser savings of up to £9000!

Everything we do uses established science and one of main aims is to keep everything as simple and straightforward as possible.
